The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Institute of Technology, Ganpat University, organized an Expert Lecture on “Electromyogram (EMG) Recording and Feature Analysis for Various Forearm Movements” on April 5, 2024, at the Seminar Hall, GUNI-UVPCE. The session was conducted by Dr. Vijay Dave, Assistant Professor, Government Engineering College, Gandhinagar.
Dr. Dave shared in depth insights into EMG signal acquisition, processing, and feature extraction techniques used in analyzing forearm muscle activities. He explained the importance of EMG in biomedical signal analysis, its applications in rehabilitation, prosthetic control, and movement classification, and discussed recent advancements in biomechanical and neural engineering. 50+ students have participated in the expert session.
